A. Definition of Procedure
A procedure text is a text which is intended to tell
the reader how to do, operate, or make something. The information in a
procedure text is usually written in the present tense and is arranged in a logical
sequence of events which is broken up into several sequenced steps.
B. Characteristics of Procedure

C. Language
Features of Procedure
v State your goals clearly at the beginning.
v List all materials and equipment in order of use.
v List the steps in chronological order.
v Focus on general people by using subject
"You" or "We" instead of individuals.
v Use action verbs (imperative verbs), such as cut,
peel, plug, turn on, etc.
v Use sequencing words to connect the steps. For
example : First(ly), second(ly), third(ly), next, then, etc.
v Give detailed information on how (carefully, with
the knife); where (into the oven); when (after the water boils).
v Give detailed factual description (shape, size,
color, amount).
v Using temporal conjunction
v Using Simple Present Tense

Ø Ingredient
1.
Powdered Gelatin 5 grams
2.
Water 3 tablespoons
3.
Black Sesame
(non-sugar) one tablespoon
4.
Milk 200 cc
5.
Powdered Sugar 2 tablespoons
Ø How to Make
1.
First, mix three tablespoons of water and powdered
gelatin. Then, stir until smooth.
2.
Second, enter the milk, powdered sugar, and black sesame
into a small pot and heat over medium heat.
3.
Stir with a
stirrer and if the powdered sugar is melted, add the gelatin mixture in the way
of number 1. Continues, heat for 1-2 minutes, then turn off the
heat.
4.
Then, put the pot on a baking sheet be given iced, then
chill, stirring constantly.
5.
Finally, insert it into a bowl and chill in the freezer for
30-40 minutes. If it hardens, it's done.
